Ο Αλέκος Κόντης γεννήθηκε και πέθανε στην Αθήνα. Υπήρξε συνθέτης, πιανίστας και αρχιμουσικός, μαθητής του Saint – Saens και του G. Haas. Ήταν ένας από τους συνθέτες που συνυπέγραψαν το πρακτικό της Ίδρυσης της Ένωσης Ελλήνων Μουσουργών.

Alekos Kontis was born and died in Athens. He was a composer, pianist and chief musician, student of Saint – Saens and G. Haas. One of the composers who co-signed the minutes of the Foundation of the Union of Greek Musicians.
